Are Web Fonts Ready for Prime Time?
Not a Single-Serving Site for once! Pat Dryburgh on why Web Fonts are not quite yet ready for practical use.
Delicious to Google Bookmarks Import
Sad to watch this happen, but nice to know that I could keep the thousands of links I have. Even with thousands of links, works pretty fast. Might start Google innovating Bookmarks, or even get them to buy Delicious (HINT HINT).
Everyone’s bookmarks for “Google Bookmarks – Delicious to Google Bookmarks Import” on Delicious
That’s depressing. I found this on the Delicious popular page.
Customising your WordPress theme for the DF Linked List plugin
In case you wanted to create your own mini-Daring Fireball in WordPress. About as good instructions you will find for people who don’t know much about mucking around in WordPress themes.

“Sometimes it’s like working at McDonald’s, with better pay.”
Confessions of an Apple Store Employee. Or, should I say, a soon-to-be-fired Apple Store Employee. Pretty much sums up what I figured was the Apple Store Employee Experience. Especially the MobileMe thing.
Neven Mrgan’s Pixelfari
Just in case you were looking to view the Internet in a standards-compliant browser on your Nintendo Entertainment System.
Um. No.
I’m not going to “Androidify” myself. I know Apple’s trying to justify Ping in iTunes, but I hope they never stoop to making me create an avatar.
What your iPad looks like after you use it
Taking pictures of the screen of an iPad after normal use. The video one caught my eye, as are not many easy-to-use controls, yet. Amazing how boring (spatially-speaking) the YouTube application is, for instance.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Prequel
Fan-made, unfortunately. As somebody who both appreciates independent cinema and the original vision of comic book creators, I was glad that Vanilla Ice was not credited with an appearance. See more at the Fight The Foot site.

An Introduction to all 11 Doctors
Brilliant Doctor Who infographic briefly describing all the actors who’ve portrayed the Doctor on the BBC Television show Doctor Who. See also the guide to all the time-traveling Doctor hookups.
Breaking the Web with hash-bangs
I first saw this on Twitter, and thought it was a bad idea. Turns out, that #! you keep seeing all over the web really does mess things up.
The 960 Grid System Made Easy
Nice writeup on the reasons behind using 960.gs. Showed me a couple of other things I could use for my CSS tomfoolery as well.

How did WordPress win?
Byrne Reece answers the more precient question than “How did Six Apart screw up?” It was many things, but mainly because WordPress beat Movable Type.
How did Six Apart screw up?
A follow-up question about current startups that are likely to close. There are so many reasons. Here’s a few of them.
AdRotate Plugin for WordPress
The plugin I’m using to show the recommended things in the sidebar. Extremely comprehensive tracking of clicks and impressions.

Twitterrific 4.0 for Mac
Time was, Twitterrific was just about the best thing that ever happened to Twitter. Then Twitter and everybody else moved on, and there just doesn’t seem to be a compelling reason to buy this — or ever use this — with all the other free alternatives that do more.
Ars Technica’s Review of Twitterrific 4.0 for Mac
Now (almost as good as) Tweetie 2!
“Things RSS can’t (and can) do”
Dave Winer, ladies and gentlemen:
4. You don’t need a quote from RSS to appear to be plugged-in.

5. RSS won’t hire you when your publication folds.

6. RSS can’t pull strings to get you into Sundance.
I agree. Stop trying to make something simple into something it isn’t. You can’t monetize everything, believe it or not.

Firefly was a Psychological Thriller?
Christopher Badeaux makes a compelling argument that it was all in Mal’s head. Honestly, his reasoning makes a lot of sense. But sometimes you just have to realize that it wasn’t Life on Mars or LOST, and the events in Firefly and Serenity really happened (in their fictional universe).
Press This Reloaded
Enables the full post screen for the Press This bookmarklet. Makes the kludgey posting of links in WordPress using custom fields a bit more palatable.
Daring Fireball Style Linked List
A cheaper and easier way of putting in links in the WordPress milieu. I’m glad somebody took to developing this, as the original by Jonathan Penn seems to have vanished into the ether.
CreativeMYK Becomes CreationSwap
A much better name, if you ask me. Still tons of free stuff for the taking, but they are finally working on the legalities of the art.

Press This Linklog Bookmarklet
This is for those of you wanting to use the ‘Press This’ javascript bookmarklet to create links to other sites (sort of like the Tumblr bookmarklet). It uses a modified version of the normal Press This script, with the addition of the ability to add something to one custom field. I use it for these link–posts.

FoxTrot iPad wallpaper
Maybe I don’t really like the iPad all that much, but I do love FoxTrot. Get the comic–inspired Jobsian comic for your iPad. Also makes a great user icon for social networking sites for lazy Steve Jobs fans.
Helvetireader²
Jon Hicks improves Helvetireader² so much, I switched to Google Reader. Yeah, Helvetireader² is that good.

This is the link to a typical incendiary blog post
This is where I offer my opinion on the blog post linked and why you should read it, calling it “a wonderfully insightful look at the structure of blog posts, you should read it”. This is another sentence containing superfluous filler because I didn’t want to end the description of the linked post after only one sentence. This sentence was added because paragraphs have at least three sentences in them. This final sentence has no value at all.
